Biography of Owner and Tour Guide Forbes Morrison
Forbes was raised in the ancient district of Carrick in South West Scotland, an area steeped in history from the earliest times with tales of the Wars of Independence, Covenanters and the boyhood life of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet.
From childhood he was fascinated by the history and culture of Carrick as well as hearing stories from his father of visits to family in the Highlands. Forbes has travelled throughout Scotland and has climbed many of the country’s mountains and walked many of the long-distance trails.
The love of his native culture led to an interest and desire to learn about other cultures.
This led to him travelling in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australasia and the Americas.
Forbes is interested in his own family history and culture and the ancestors who lived in many different corners of Scotland, and this has led him to travel extensively around the country.
Other interests include photography, folk music, and an appreciation of the Scottish whisky regions.
Forbes has lived in Ayrshire, Glasgow and latterly Edinburgh where he worked in financial services, but is now sharing his passion and love of Scotland by leading bespoke tours throughout the country.
